Lokidixon Günlüğü, 17 Ara 12

Starting a challenge today. The goal: lose close to twenty pounds by early March... basically a pound-a-half a week. That seems like a realistic goal yet one that's restrictive enough to keep my attention, allowing me to build momentum.

I'd been away from this site for months but knew it was time to come back. I haven't gained a boatload of weight or anything, but I'd like to lose a good deal.

With this in mind, I've been adjusting things. I've been working out more and cutting back both on junk and calories in general. I recently read a great book called WHEAT BELLY, which prompted me to give up wheat for a while. After only two weeks, I feel much, much better. My weight hasn't changed much, but around the same time, I threw myself back into regular exercise, and I know I've been rebuilding muscle. I'm definitely thinner than I was two weeks ago, which gives me good fuel for starting this challenge.

Tomorrow, I head back to the boxing gym for the first time in years. Can't wait -- and the timing is perfect, considering this challenge. I love the gym, the workout is insane, and just being there takes me back to my youth, when I used to cut sick amounts of weight. Older now, I'll settle happily for moderate results, while I work on overall health.
