I'm cooling off after working in the gardens a little. I cut back more browning flowers& leaves off the Lenten Roses. The blooms are about spent for the year. I got an insect bite in spite of covering myself with repellant 😒 Hubby cut back some Nandina bushes while I supervised.. I planted a packet of Cosmos seeds in a couple of planters. I had a pretty Dahlia in one but something ate all the leaves off of it 😟 Cosmos do well for me. I've been closely watching & FINALLY multiple Caladium bulbs I planted weeks ago are sprouting. That makes me happy.

I had a bowl of popcorn for my afternoon snack/lunch. I'm going to try to eat light for a couple of days. I averaged under 1800 calories for last week, but I'm up just over goal. Although I only had a 2 oz. serving of the fettuccine last night I put 2 tbsp. of real butter 🧈in it....as many calories as the pasta! I was trying to fancy up the chicken breasts for Father's Day dinner. The meal did turn out nice 😊 Hubby had carrot cake for dessert but I had sugar free jello and whipped cream..

We had our traditional fruit & bagel (1/2) with peanut butter this morning. Salmon on the menu tonight. I'll keep it light with a salad.

I'm not feeling motivated to do my toning exercises. I skipped them yesterday too, but we did walk before dinner. We'll walk this afternoon.

I read a comment on another journal earlier. It annoys me when someone advises you absolutely should not eat fruit and you can't have dessert more than once a week. I lost weight & have maintained while eating fruit...a whole bowl of it....for breakfast...and sometimes an apple in the afternoon. I also ate dessert every...single...night & lost weight. I still do. I have been known to have a bit of chocolate with my red wine...and then have my actual dessert 😯 after the dishes are done. If it fits in my calories...I can have it!

I have clothes in the dryer...guess I should go check on them. Then maybe I'll exercise....
