My first entry is to ask you for your prayers on behalf of a child my wife and I are familiar. Xander is 8, a very energetic boy, and lives in Texas. we have known his father and mother for about 15 years, and have known his maternal grandparents since the 1970s. Xander was diagnosed with bone cancer on 2/29. He is being treated with the most current treatments, and so far reacting positively to the various regimens. My wife and I definitely believe in the power of prayer, and your prayers are solicited on his behalf.

Finally, it is good to be under 200 again. My short-term goal was reached. A regimen of exercise and moderate amounts of food do work. No pics, but last night my wife made a 4-oz "lamb burger" smothered in a mixture of mushrooms, onions, and some left over Uncle Ben's wild rice. She put it on a white flour tortilla. Absolutely delicious. We also had some broccoli, and my daily portions of some dates & nuts for dessert. Had never had a lamb burger. However, I love lamb in just about any form except with the traditional mint jelly. That combination never appealed to me. But, lamb chops, shanks, upper legs, and just any cut are great. I was at a upscale restaurant once when I was younger, and they had an hors d'oeuvres buffet table with lamb chops. Had to have a couple of helpings at least. I had eaten lamb when I was a small child, and had turned my nose up at the meat. But growing older and out of college, especially after I married my wife, provided me with a whole new world of what cuisine was all about. She introduced me to "true" Spanish and other European food. Paella is now my favorite. She is a true blessing to me. Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday. God is good.
