I'm kind of looking at my journal in a new way. Lately my journal focus has been goal oriented from day to day. It's been less wordy but more relevant to what I need to do each day. Of course, I will still have my rants now and then but I'm still in it to win it...

Today I need to visit the gym and put in some work...

You are living life and holding your own John...the new gym membership can open some doors for you with non-weight, health and fitness oriented goals for you too. These can be challenging, fun and give purpose to your training (working out).

Big thanks to everyone for the kind words. I'm just trying to do the best I can to maintain and maybe get a little better. The gym participation all started with a visit with a friend when I was out of town. I almost felt drafted to go. I was amazed. I enjoyed it as much as when I had a gym membership 25 years ago. I had no idea that I would ever enjoy a workout 45 pounds ago and 25 years later but I do now. Yeah, it's challenging but it's still fun and I think it aids my ability to do other stuff I love.

John, when you have some spare time please give paubut's recent post in the Maintainers group regarding intermittent glycogen depletion and its affect on health (type 2 Diabetes especially) a read and let me know what you think. I'd like to know how your own experience with type 2 DB lines up with the article. I have some of my own experience with type 2 and glycogen depletion but not enough to know it in depth. Thnx in advance!!

I did get to read the article and it made common sense to me. From my own limited experiences it does seem that my blood glucose is a bit more manageable for days after I work a muscle group to exhaustion or as the article stated glycogen depletion. It may also explain why intermittent fasters state that they feel rejuvenated for days when they return to moderate eating. I'm not an expert but I have unconsciously been doing some of the course of action suggested because it seems to help me. I have heard of the benefits of intermittent fasting for some time but haven’t tried it for years. If the article is correct and it does make common sense, it is worth considering. I have accepted that fact that I have diabetes and that it may be irreversible. I am trying to reach the highest level of glucose control possible and so far I have been fairly successful since my diagnosis years ago. I am most fearful of the complications of diabetes. That is why I keep trying while I can…
