Happy Friday, my Fabulous Followers!

I just had the worst five days in a row. I completely crashed. My husband says I do this every February - the darkness, the cold and the snow finally took over and I got sad and irritable.

I made poor food choices and ate well over both my calories and carbs for five days in a row. I feel like crap - and cannot believe this used to be my "normal" eating.

Today, I will make it to Orange Theory (missed two days due to weather) and that usually motivates me in both mood and commitment to my health!

ADDENDUM: Made it to the gym and was able to do 1000 meters rowing machine at one shot and some of the floor work with light weights (20 lbs - 25 lbs) in addition to the elliptical - nine weeks out from arm surgery so improving slowly.

I will be traveling for work most of March - and two weeks will be in southern California! Bring it on! Better be sunny there!

Goal Calories: 1150/1175 or less, and carbs under 25 total grams

Macros: F/60-70% P/20-30% C/5-10%

* Down on the Idiot Box while rebuilding muscle after surgery-log weekly
* Bodyfat% reading with trainer May/June/July 2019
* Drink at least 12-14 cups of fresh water daily - especially on gym days
* Continue HIIT mixed in with weight lifting five days a week
* Keep up the training notebook to achieve progressive overload

Long Range Goals: 2019
*Bodyfat at 27% or less (Current 29.38%) by summer 2019
*Longer range body fat goal is 25% - which at my age is great!
*Maintain 160lbs or less staying under goal weight in 2019
*Increased strength, endurance and flexibility during workouts

I think it's interesting your husband notes the seasonal episodes. Dreary weather does seem to induce a 'eat up to hibernate' type mood, doesn't it?

Interesting - I live in Canada and we can have long and dreary winters. Many people suffer from SAD - seasonal affective disorder. We treat it with light therapy. Special lamps you sit in front of for 30 minutes each morning. I bet you could find them on Amazon if you are so inclined. I bought one several years ago, only had to use it for one year, but for that year it was my savior . You are smarter than most in that you know why you derailed temporarily. You got this!!

I'm certain that I'm stalled because of the lack of sunlight. I try to walk outside a couple times a day, but I have to be all bundled up. Fresh air is good, but sunlight is better. I've been thinking about getting a light lamp and I think I just need to make it a priority. We will get through this winter and be complaining about the heat an humidity before you know it!

My mother took to sitting in a sunny window every day for 30 minutes - wrong kind of light, but she said the meditation she did was perfect for helping get her going every day

I'm not sure that I wouldn't rather be a little cold than fight those darn mosquitos and high humidity! I prefer sitting in front of a fireplace to sweltering on the porch.

We all crash. Don't stay down, pick yourself up and get back on track. You can so totally do this. PS I hate the winter and I live in west Texas.

When I was young family said February was so depressing that it only got 28 days...this February so far is 62 days and still counting! Hang in there and know that is good information to have about yourself. Plan for it next year!

I totally understand. When the sun shines through, we just stare outside in wonder. Nothing but clouds and rain here (or ice, or snow). Still raining. Glad you got to the gym and worked out. Best thing in the world for you. Hugs!
