Greetings my Friendly Followers!

Three weeks ago my "friend" agreed to meet us this coming Saturday afternoon for a "surprise" birthday for my husband with appetizers on the lakefront deck at a nice restaurant. It is also her birthday a few days later.

I sent a text today to confirm they were coming and she writes,"Oh, I forgot about this. I think we will have to pass. We want to go out and look at kayaks this weekend."

PLEASE tell me, WHO the fuc# does this? I am so incredibly hurt and disappointed! My FIRST impulse was to want to eat my anger by stopping at the store for something - BUT I did not do it!

I came directly home and had my planned dinner. I just do not understand people being that hurtful and rude! I have known her for years so it really hurt - but not enough to make me blow my food plan!

I get wonky around my bday. You said hers is soon. Maybe she doesnt want to go celebrate? Good job not letting your emotions control your intake :)

I’m sorry this happened. People can be very selfish and disappointing. Enjoy your plans anyways and celebrate your husband without them!

They should look at kayaks the night before, buy a double one, then bring it to the lakeside restaurant so they can paddle after your birthday celebration. Done.

Awesome NSV! Sorry that your friend is a disappointment; you know people will let you down at some point but it still hurts like crazy making you NSV even more impressive. Hang in there!

Good for you on the food front. As for your friend, I would have told her how I felt. Why bury your feelings. It’s a dangerous thing to do. What she is doing is beyond rude. I would calmly explain how unkind, selfish and thoughtless she is being and how disappointed you are in her, that you would never have expected her to act in such a manner. She may retaliate, but who cares. She clearly has no regard for you anyway....if she has, she will hear you and straighten up.

kayak shopping vs friend's bday?? hmmm..... say she isn't really a friend and so definitely NOT worth any of your time worrying about her or her reason why.
